Where and how to share photos online
Blogger (http://www.blogger.com/)
- Upload tool allows several pictures at once. Pictures can be resized as small, medium, and large. Clicking on photos brings up original. Multiple pictures uploaded at once are shmushed together. But each posting is simple HTML and can be edited via built in WYSIWYG editor.
- Blog could incorporate text and links, as well as photos.
- Template is customizable, no ads.
- Posts cannot be reordered.
- Uploading pictures and publishing posts take a few seconds.

- No size or bandwidth limit.

- Upload a single image at a time. Form includes space for headline and caption.
- No way to turn off comments.
- Forward and back buttons, but system only shows a single image at a time.

Flickr (http://www.flickr.com/)
- Upload tool (http://www.flickr.com/photos/upload/) allows 6 pictures at a time, but does not allow user to add captions.
- Photos can also be e-mailed. Subject of e-mail becomes photo title, body of e-mail becomes caption.
- Photos can be added automatically to blog if sent via e-mail. (For example, http://avijanssen.blogspot.com/). Subject of e-mail becomes title of posting, body of e-mail becomes body of posting. Alignment of picture is configurable in Flickr. Each posting in blog probably needs to be edited and cleaned up. (See Blogger for more details.)
- Limit of 20 MB per month, measured in bandwidth, not actual storage space.
- Pro Account is $24.95 per year. 2 GB monthly bandwidth, unlimited storage, no ads.
- Photos can be viewed as a slideshow.
- Photos automatically resized, thumbnails created.
- Photos are either public, or visible to family or friends (must be in Flickr contact list).

- Security includes specific Yahoo! users, age limits, etc.
